Transfer fee, additional clauses, first reactions: Alex Robertson signs for Cardiff City from Manchester City
Manchester City midfielder Alex Robertson has completed a permanent transfer to Sky Bet Championship side Cardiff City.
The midfielder has become the latest City Football Academy star to be sold by Manchester City, after the 21-year-old completed a permanent transfer to Cardiff City, amid rivalled interest from Portsmouth and Hull City.
The 21-year-old spent the previous campaign at Fratton Park with Portsmouth, making 23 league appearances before suffering a hamstring injury during a first-team training session with the newly-promoted club.
A loan at Portsmouth was Robertson’s second spell away from the Etihad Stadium, with the midfielder having spent time in the Scottish Premiership with Ross County during the 2022/23 campaign.
Robertson moved to Manchester City in 2017 from semi-professional club Hakoah Sydney, and has been an unused substitute for Pep Guardiola’s side across the Premier League, UEFA Champions League and Carabao Cup.
