Pep Guardiola will see one of his common features of Manchester City’s pre-season tour of the United States travel for a medical today, according to reports.

Despite conversations having progressed and largely finalised over a deal for Callum Doyle, the player’s relinquishing of Manchester City duties this summer were put on hold until after the club’s pre-season tour of the United States.

The 20-year-old was a common feature as part of Pep Guardiola’s defence Stateside, offering his talents at both left-back and centre-back throughout the club’s four-game schedule against the likes of Barcelona and Chelsea.

Having impressed many onlookers with his defensive maturity and fine passing range from defence into attack, there is a belief that Doyle still has a career at the Etihad Stadium ahead of him, and his next steps in the game could go a long way to further proving that.

And Callum Doyle’s fourth consecutive loan move away from Manchester City will take him back into the Championship, having contributed heavily to Leicester City’s Premier League promotion last campaign.

According to the information of The Pink Un’s Connor Southwell, Manchester City centre-back Callum Doyle will undergo a medical at Norwich City on Monday ahead of completing a season-long loan move into the Championship this season.

Doyle will likely form an integral part of new Norwich manager Johannes Hoff Thorup’s defence, as the Carrow Road club look to secure their own return to the English top-flight after several seasons away from the division.

So far in his rising career, Callum Doyle has secured promotion play-off campaigns and complete promotion-winning seasons with Sunderland in League One, as well as Coventry City and Leicester City in the Championship.

Such is Manchester City’s belief that Callum Doyle has an exemplary career ahead of him, Etihad Stadium bosses moved in 2023 to ensure the defender’s services with the club until 2027, as well as holding an option to extend for a further year until 2028.
