Details and images of Manchester City’s brand new 2024/25 fourth kit – the first of its kind for the Premier League champions – have surfaced in the media this week.

The fourth kit will be Manchester City’s final release of the new season, and may not arrive on sale for the club’s global supporter base until midway through the campaign, or possibly even in the new year.

The music-themed shirt will follow up the release of a brand new home kit which features an ‘0161’ graffiti graphic in reference to the Greater Manchester region’s area code, as well as a 1999 play-off final-inspired away shirt – which is already expected to be hugely popular.

Puma have also confirmed this week that Manchester City fans will be greeted by the official launch of the club’s new third shirt, with details few and far between other than striking similarities to the maroon release of the 2012/13 campaign.

But supporters should certainly not get too excited about the upcoming fourth kit, with sources with knowledge of the shirt pointing towards a difficult design to come to love.

According to the information of Footy Headlines, a source has described Manchester City’s 2024/25 fourth kit design as one that “could go down as one of the worst ever for the club”, with the colours and look drawing inspiration from the cover of Oasis’ debut album in 1994.

It is revealed that the Oasis-inspired kit combines a ‘pale yellow base’ with ‘navy-turquoise’ logos and teal applications, while the front of the shirt has a ‘radial gradient’ deriving from the crest design.

Noel Gallagher’s recently-released 2024/25 Manchester City cup kit font is also used for elements of the yet-to-be-released fourth kit, which will be used on the pitch unlike the club’s popular Chinese New Year release from early 2023.

As for when to expect an official launch of the new kit, Footy Headlines reports that the 2024/25 edition is expected to be launched in late 2024 or early 2025, ahead of the club’s Emirates FA Cup participation which begins in the third round of the competition.

Some on social media have come across images of what appears to be Manchester City’s new fourth kit, and images that also match the description offered by Footy Headlines in their newest report on the edition.

Manchester City will return to competitive action in early August as they compete in the traditional curtain raiser to the domestic football schedule by taking on Manchester United in the FA Community Shield.

Pep Guardiola and his players will then begin their hunt for a fifth-successive Premier League title by travelling to face Chelsea at Stamford Bridge on the opening weekend of the 2024/25 top-flight campaign.
