Manchester City are set to outline their future intentions for rising Brazilian winger Kayky in the coming weeks, as the 21-year-old approaches a return to action.

The highly-rated Brazilian prodigy missed a significant chunk of his most-recent season on loan at City Football Group side Bahia in his home nation through an injury to his anterior cruciate ligament.

Now closing in on a full recovery, Kayky and his representatives, along with support from Manchester City, are now identifying the next best steps to get his career back on track, and ensure continued development in the European game.

Kayky’s only loan spell in the European game thus far saw him partake in the first half of the 2022/23 season at Pacos de Ferreira in Portugal’s Primeira Liga, after earning himself a Manchester City first-team debut and his bow in the Premier League.

The former Fluminense man’s first appearance under Pep Guardiola came in a 4-1 win at Swindon Town in the FA Cup within a week of his arrival at the club in 2022, before recording a Premier League debut in a 4-0 victory away at Norwich the next month.

Now, it appears as though Kayky’s future could lie in the Dutch game, with a new report pointing towards the first clear interest in the player’s talents following his significant injury setback last year.

That is according to the information of Simon Jones of MailSport, who reports that Kayky is currently attracting loan interest from Eredivisie side Sparta Rotterdam, with the 21-year-old likely to leave Manchester City this summer, either on loan or on a permanent basis.

It is explained that the Brazilian talent is not yet viewed as ready for regular first-team football within Pep Guardiola’s squad at the Etihad Stadium, with his most-recent developmental loan spell cut short by a serious injury.

Kayky recently dined in Manchester city centre with the club’s latest Brazilian recruit Savinho, with the senior Brazil international having penned a five-year contract at the Etihad Stadium through to the summer of 2029.

It is widely believed that Savinho will be integrated firmly into Pep Guardiola’s squad for the forthcoming campaign, and will begin his training ground preparations when he returns from his summer break in early August.

The former Troyes and Girona forward has also inherited the iconic number 26 shirt at Manchester City, crediting the influence of Riyad Mahrez on his game as inspiration behind the decision when speaking to the club’s in-house media team last week.
