Manchester City have reportedly received contact from Serie A giants Juventus over a potential transfer agreement for Brazil international Yan Couto this summer.

The future of the rising South American full-back talent has been thrown into doubt this summer after it emerged in the last few weeks that Manchester City would be open to offers for the player.

Couto returns to Manchester City this summer fresh off the back of an exceptional loan spell with La Liga high-flyers and fellow City Football Group side Girona, playing an integral role in their successful pursuit of UEFA Champions League football for the next campaign.

But despite some quarters of the City supporter base showing their frustration over the performances of Kyle Walker at times last season, and the club no doubt needing to prepare for longer-term life without the club captain given his age, Couto is unlikely to stay.

That willingness to negotiate a permanent exit for Yan Couto has attracted widespread interest in the full-back, with a potential suitor from the Italian game having now emerged and show an interest in a temporary agreement.

According to the information of Italian newspaper Corriere dello Sport, as translated and relayed by Juvefc.com, Juventus have ‘already made contact’ with Manchester City over the possibility of signing Yan Couto on an initial loan deal.

With regards to how much it would take to sign the 22-year-old permanently, it is claimed that Manchester City have named their price, eyeing a fee of €25 million for the full-back who excelled during a temporary agreement with Girona last season.

Despite some outlets suggesting that Yan Couto is entering into the final year of his Manchester City contract this season, the player himself has recently confirmed that that is not the case, speaking openly about his future in the last few weeks.

“I had a very good season at Girona. Now that my loan ends, I’m looking at what to do for the future, but I’m with Manchester City,” Couto told Brazilian media. “I have a contract with them until 2026, I’m going to talk to them this summer. We’ll sort it out and leave it in the hands of my manager.”

It remains to be seen whether Yan Couto will be integrated into Manchester City’s pre-season tour squad for the four upcoming matches in the United States, although should an exit not be agreed by that point in the summer, it is likely that he will take part in front of Pep Guardiola.
