Manchester City midfielder Kevin De Bruyne is willing to extend his current Manchester City contract despite recent Saudi Pro League and MLS links.

The 32-year-old concluded his ninth campaign with Manchester City at Wembley Stadium on Saturday, as Pep Guardiola’s side suffered defeat to local rivals Manchester United in the Emirates FA Cup Final, after two first-half goals from Alejandro Garnacho and Kobbie Mainoo.

De Bruyne made 26 appearances for the Sky Blues in a season hampered by a long-term hamstring injury, which forced the Belgian international to miss fixtures between August and January.

The midfielder won a sixth Premier League title during the 2023/24 campaign, with the potential for the season to have been De Bruyne’s penultimate at the Etihad Stadium, due to 32-year-old being out of contract at the Etihad Stadium in 2025.

De Bruyne has been linked with a potential exit from east Manchester this summer, with approaches from both Saudi Arabia and America for the Belgian international ahead of the upcoming transfer window.

Numerous Saudi Arabian clubs are interested in signing De Bruyne, meanwhile a move stateside has also been mooted, with the United States widely claimed to be the midfielder’s preferred destination after Manchester City.

De Bruyne would be able to sign a pre-contract agreement with another club from January, although the Belgian could still reportedly extend his current stay at Manchester City, with next season set to be the Belgian’s 10th at the Sky Blues.

Paul Hirst claims that De Bruyne is ‘open to discussing an extension to his current deal’ in light of Saudi Arabian clubs making the Manchester City star one of their top targets.

De Bruyne has started 15 Premier League games for the Blues this term, and was replaced in the 57th minute of Saturday’s FA Cup Final loss.

The midfielder has made 382 appearances and won 15 trophies with Manchester City to date, with De Bruyne also surpassing the 100-goal mark during the recent campaign.
