Manchester City players and staff celebrated a historic campaign with a city centre parade on Sunday.
Pep Guardiola’s side took to the streets of Manchester on Sunday evening to celebrate success in the Premier League, FIFA Club World and UEFA Super Cup during the 2023/24 campaign, despite suffering a disappointing loss to Manchester United in the Emirates FA Cup Final on Saturday.
Manchester City were unable to win a fourth trophy of the season at Wembley Stadium, losing 1-2 to local rivals United, after first-half goals from Alejandro Garnacho and Kobbie Mainoo inflicted a frustrating first loss since December.
The Sky Blues clinched a record-breaking fourth consecutive Premier League title last weekend however, beating West Ham at the Etihad Stadium 3-1 to win a sixth top-flight English title in seven years.
Manchester City moved into an early 2-0 lead after sublime efforts from Phil Foden, with Rodri restoring the two-goal cushion in the second-half against the Hammers, after Mohammed Kudus halved the deficit with an acrobatic effort before half-time.
City beat Arsenal to the Premier League title for a second consecutive season, with the Blues finishing two points ahead of Mikel Arteta’s side; after registering 28 wins, seven draws and three losses to surpass the 90-point mark.
The Cityzens also showed off their continental and global success in the city centre on Sunday evening, giving fans a glimpse of both the FIFA Club World Cup and UEFA Super Cup.
Manchester City won both trophies for the first time in the club’s history during the season, lifting the Super Cup in August with a win over Sevilla in Athens, and the Club World Cup in Saudi Arabia in December.
