Confirmed Match Officials: Chelsea vs Manchester City (Premier League)

Paul Tierney will take charge of Manchester City’s trip to Stamford Bridge on Thursday evening, as the Sky Blues look to bounce back from a disappointing result against Everton.

Manchester City’s Premier League title defence took a significant blow on New Year’s Eve, as Pep Guardiola’s side had to settle for a 1-1 draw against Everton, dropping points at home for the second successive fixture.

City now enter a challenging period of fixtures, facing Chelsea, Manchester United and Spurs in their next three Premier League matches.

Chelsea also dropped points at the weekend as Graham Potter’s team fell to 9th in the Premier League table, seven points off of the top four.

Ahead of Thursday’s clash at Stamford Bridge, the Premier League have announced the Match Officials for the fixture.

Match Referee

Paul Tierney will take charge of proceedings in West London on Thursday evening.

The 42 year-old has refereed 14 matches so far this season, showing 53 yellow cards and two red cards.

Tierney last took charge of City in August, when the Blues thrashed Nottingham Forest 6-0 at the Etihad.

Assistant Referees

Tierney will be accompanied at Stamford Bridge by Assistant Referees Constantine Hatzidakis and Neil Davies.

Video Assistant Referees

Overviewing proceedings from Stockley Park will be Video Assistant Referee Michael Salisbury and Assistant Video Assistant Referee Adam Nunn.

Fourth Official

Robert Jones has been appointed as the Fourth Official.

The referee will be overseeing conduct within the two dugouts, and the behaviour of managers Graham Potter and Pep Guardiola.
