Rodri has admitted that Manchester City are ‘exactly’ where they would want to be at this stage of the ongoing season, speaking during a new interview.

Pep Guardiola’s City side enter the final international break of the ongoing season competing on three fronts and remaining in hot-pursuit of a retention of their historic Treble success from the 2022/23 campaign.

The conclusion of international duties will be met with a high-profile Premier League clash against title rivals Arsenal at the Etihad Stadium, while the April fixture list represents a significant moment in the club’s trophy-hunt.

An FA Cup semi-final meeting with Chelsea at Wembley, and a UEFA Champions League double-header against Real Madrid will be accompanied by a number of crunch Premier League clashes including against Aston Villa and Crystal Palace.

However, speaking during a recent interview, Pep Guardiola’s go-to defensive midfielder Rodri has admitted that he and his teammates – were they to be asked at the start of the season – are exactly where they would want to be at this stage of the campaign.

“If you ask ourselves before the season which position we would be able to be in, it would be exactly this one – involved in every competition, wanting to fight for everything,” Rodri explained.

“This is the situation that we’re going to get after the international break. We can win everything, of course. It will be so, so tough. The job is done up until now and now we have to do the last push.”

Rodri has been at the centre of Manchester City’s successes over the last few seasons, and infamously scored the club’s winning goal against Inter in the UEFA Champions League final of last season.

The Spanish international defensive midfielder is currently on a run of over 60 competitive matches unbeaten across all competitions for Manchester City, and will be hoping to keep that record straight until the end of the season and claim further success for his club.
