Manchester City discover Carabao Cup quarter-final opponents following completed draw

Pep Guardiola’s Manchester City have now discovered their fate in the Carabao Cup quarter-finals, following the draw which took place on Thursday night.
City have now knocked-out Premier League giants in both the third round and fourth round of this year’s tournament, via a 2-0 win against Chelsea before the World Cup and a 3-2 win over Liverpool.
Erling Haaland opened the scoring early in the first-half against Liverpool, before Fabio Carvalho responded for the visitors just moments later.
It was Manchester City who regained the lead early in the second-half, as Riyad Mahrez put the Sky Blues ahead before Mo Salah equalised for a second time just 1 minute and 19 seconds later.
However, it was Nathan Ake who would ultimately decide the game, turning home a delightful Kevin De Bruyne cross from a well-worked short-corner routine.
After the game, the Carabao Cup quarter-final draw was completed with Manchester City now knowing that they will face Southampton away from home in the next round of the competition.
