“I swear!” – Phil Foden reveals just how much he pays for his haircuts
Manchester City superstar Phil Foden was asked the all-important questions after his side’s 1-3 victory over FC Copenhagen in the UEFA Champions League on Tuesday.
Foden was largely at the centre of everything good for Manchester City at Parken in the Danish capital, providing an assist in the first-half and a decisive third goal late on in the contest to maintain a staggering run of form for the club.
Operating mostly in a central position, but sometimes drifting out wide on the right, Phil Foden is now finding himself at the centre of attacking moves whilst finishing off routines by advancing into the penalty area.
The win over Copenhagen in Denmark now puts Manchester City into a commanding position in the tie overall, with Jacob Neestrup’s side visiting the Etihad Stadium early next month for the second-leg of the round of 16.
Phil Foden, speaking with the ever-entertaining panel from CBS Sports on Tuesday night after another successful outing this time in Copenhagen, spent a moment discussing all things haircuts whilst revealing how much his clean-up costs each time.
“Twenty quid from the local,” Phil Foden told presenter Kate Abdo when quizzed on his cut. “Always, I swear! Obviously I sort him out sometimes but I’ve gone to the same barber from the age of eight.”
“Did he slip when he went to your eyebrows or not?!” exclaimed Micah Richards in reference to the 23-year-old’s slick design, to which Foden responded, “Yeah… it’s stayed there ever since!”
Foden will be hoping his sharp look off the pitch is brought on the field of play once again this weekend, with Manchester City having little time to reflect on their latest Champions League victory as they turn attentions back to the Premier League.
Chelsea are the opponents on Saturday evening and will be hoping to go one step further than a dramatic 4-4 draw played out earlier this season at Stamford Bridge, while City have all eyes on another three points themselves to maintain their position near the top of the division.
Next week will also bring a huge contest for Manchester City in the title race, and should they beat Mauricio Pochettino’s side this weekend, a midweek clash against Brentford at the Etihad would hand them a golden opportunity to establish themselves as outright league leaders.
